Entry 6: Mike Stringer's New Signature Guitar Collection

    We see celebrities collaborate with their favorite brands all the time. Guitarists are no exception to this. With countless artist signature models out there, it's not very often that a guitarist gets a while collection of their own. Mike Stringer, lead guitarist of popular metal band Spiritbox, has just announced his signature guitar collection with Aristides Guitars. And this thing is definitely one metal guitarist won't want to miss!

    What really is the difference between an artist model guitar and an artist guitar collection? Aa artist or signature model guitar is one guitar, built to an artists liking, then made on bulk and sold as is. Current popular example of this would be Tim Henson of Polyphia with his signature model with Ibanez, the TOD10; Nita Strauss' signature model with Ibanez, the JIVA10; and Jared Dines signature model with Sterling by Music Man. An artist collection is a group of guitars made my an artist, or a customizable model. 

    In Mike Stringer's case, his collection is a customizable model with Aristides. It comes in 6, 7, and 8-string options, and over 50 different finish options. You can choose to have a evertune bridge, Floyd rose, or fixed bridge. Only one body shape is available, which is what makes it so recognizable and specific to Stringer's collection. Locking tuners are a standard across all models. And any other customizable options like the fret in-lays, pickups, scale length, and more.

    Although this a customizable guitar collection, there's 10 examples on the Aristides website. The ones pictured are example of these. The one pictured above is multi scaled guitar in the finish Royal Red. It features a gold fixed bridge, knob and three-way-swtich, It also has a richlite black fretboard with invisible fret in-lays. This is just one of the countless options you can create with this guitar collection.

    With the countless options you can create, there's a model out there for almost any hobbyist to oriffesion guitarist out there. Mike Stringer's guitar collection is featured on the newest Spiritbox record, and you can hear that it packs quite a punch.
